Out this week
Four new anime releases have hit the shops on schedule this week: Detonator Orgun, Vampire Hunter D, Blue Gender vol. 7, and Sailor Moon vol. 4.

Also out this week, and getting much more publicity than a typical anime title, is The Animatrix, a series of animated short films based on the Matrix films. This is of interest to anime fans, because most of the shorts are by Japanese directors, including Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll), Mahiro Maeda (Blue Sub 6) and Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop).
