Metropolis set to tour the country
==================================

The following is an extract from an e-mail that was sent by Columbia
Tristar Films UK recently concerning their theatrical release of the new
anime movie 'Metropolis':

> Columbia Tristar Films UK will be releasing METROPOLIS 
> on January 11 2002 at the ICA, The Mall, London, SW1 
> (www.ica.org.uk).
> The print will then be touring around the country and the 
> next dates that we have are:
> Feb 15th Corner House Manchester
> Feb 22nd Cine City Norwich
> Mar 1st Phoenix Arts Leicester
> Mar 8th Metro Derby
> 
> The film should then go on to tour most major cities (Edinburgh,
> Glasgow, Liverpool, Sheffield etc)

It appears that these are start dates for a series of screenings at each
venue, not just one-offs.

Fox Kids UK announce 2002 line-up
=================================

Cable and satellite channel Fox Kids has released details of its new shows
for the early 2002 season. Included are two anime shows, 'Medabots' and
'Shinzo'. From the press release:

 "Medabots, a 52-episode series acquired from Nelvana International,
  launches on the channel during the February half-term holiday week (18-24
  February). The show is set in a technologically advanced future where 
  every child owns a high-performance pet robot endowed with artificial
  intelligence."

 "Shinzo, acquired from Saban International, is an anime series charting
  the adventures of Yokumo, a young earthling who is the planet's only hope
  of survival (Fox Kids cable & satellite premiere)."
