Animejin News - 19th October 1998

Aya-con looms

This weekend UK anime fandom will converge on the Grand Hotel, Birmingham
for Aya-con, the first anime convention organised by Anime Central. Veteran
con goers will be familiar with the Grand, as it has hosted anime cons in
the past. This con will feature the usual video program, dealers room,
masquerade, auction, games room, quiz and after discussion with the
hotel and legal advice, no flans. For further details check out the Aya-con
web site at

Manga Mania now Manga Max

The new Manga Mania has changed its name to Manga Max. The name 'Manga
Mania' can't be used because Manga Max will be distributed in the US as
well as the UK, and 'Manga Mania' is already used by Central Park Media as
the name of one of their divisions. The first issue is due to go on sale
next month.
